"The lighthouse doesn't wait for clear skies to fulfill its purpose—it shines brightest precisely when visibility is poorest."

Thanks for this reminder.

Thank you so much for This much needed and timely advice! “Providing Gentle Guidance: A lighthouse doesn't loudly demand that ships follow its beam—it simply offers a consistent light. This is a lot like presence: We aren't forcing ourselves or anyone else to do anything; we're just maintaining a calm, guiding awareness.”

Alex,

Your calming presence is such a gift. I had never heard of Yoga Nidra before you and Teri Leigh introduced me to it last month. And I have tried listening to a few other pieces from other people, but yours are the most soothing and comforting. I feel like you give the listener permission to simply BE as they are, and that relaxes me the most--when I don't have to think, "Oh, am I doing this wrong?" Thank you for that.

Thank you, Jeannie. I’m so glad my approach to Yoga Nidra resonates with you. What you are describing is what I hope everyone can experience - a space where you can be as you are, instead of worrying about the practice itself. What matters is what you gain from it.

YES! It’s a very new experience for me. I am used to “following protocol,” and then feeling totally lost or defeated. I find that your gentle invitation, as well as tonal inflection, helps me ease into a state of mind that is more apt to let go and surrender to relaxation.

I love it! No formal protocol here. I hope, as you practice, you almost find your perfect protocol to letting go with yoga nidra. 🩵
