(Re)Welcoming You to Life As I See It
Rooted in what’s always been true, now just said out loud.
This space has always been about writing from the middle of things. Basically because I’ve been in the middle of things. 😂
For nearly a year, I've been inadvertently documenting what many avoid: how transitions actually feel. When the old story ends, but the new one keeps starting with "maybe."
You know this territory:
Your job title says one thing, your soul whispers mutiny
Their toothbrush still lives in your drawer
You're building something new, but it's not done curing
The truth about living between stories? The not-knowing becomes generative.
Life As I See It exists because someone needs to write from the unfinished places. To admit most of life happens in the messy middle, not the befores and afters.
Perspective in motion.
It just took me a while to say that plainly.
This Is the Work I’m Doing Here
I'm naming what we know but rarely say out loud.
The contradictions we live with. The patterns we pretend not to see. The tender absurdity of trying to become a person while already being one.
Some pieces start with my own unraveling and becoming—like the time I cried in a grocery store because they moved the coffee filters. Others zoom out to the cultural stories we've swallowed whole without checking the ingredients.
Most live in between. Personal enough to make you wince. Universal enough to make you forward it to that friend who needs to hear it too.
What threads them together isn't advice or answers. It's thee shared relief of hearing someone else say: "Yeah, this is weird, right?"
I'm not here to fix your reflection. I'm here to point out what's already there.
What You Can Expect
Weekly essays (every Tuesday, sometimes Thursday too)
Stories that name what we quietly know but rarely say
Reflections that invite space, not prescriptions that make demands
Cultural observations that might make you uncomfortable in the best way
Permission to find profound meaning in coffee spills and parking lots
This is a place for recognition.
If I do this right, each piece will create that pause where you finally hear yourself think.
The only authority that matters here is yours.
About Paid Subscriptions
Everything that matters stays free. Always.
The Tuesday essays. The occasional Thursday surprises. The heart of what makes this space what it is.
But some of you have been asking for more. More depth. More time in the questions. More companionship in the uncertainty.
So I'm creating something different.
The Lingerers
($9/month or $90/year)
For those who don't rush through questions. Who know that sitting with uncertainty is sometimes the whole point. Or those just beginning their journey in the threshold.
You get:
Behind-the-scenes audio reflections: The thoughts I almost cut, the questions still echoing, the things I don't usually say out loud because they aren't polished enough
Seasonal Companion Pages: Self-guided experiences for your own becoming
Post-Nidra Reflections: Audio integration for what surfaces in stillness
Quarterly Slow Sessions: Live gatherings where we sit within the threshold
Everything in the archives
The Ones Who Stay
($250/year)
For those who want to go even deeper.
Everything above, plus:
A private 1:1 session: coaching, breath, yoga therapy, or just honest conversation
Seasonal small circles: unscripted, honest conversation with others in transition
A printed Companion Pages for each season
A seasonal handwritten note of gratitude (because some things shouldn't be automated)
This is about creating space for the conversations that need more time.
Why I’m Writing This Now
I've been waiting for the right language. The right moment. The perfectly polished way to say exactly what this space is.
Then April happeneds.
And I remembered what I keep forgetting: clarity doesn't arrive before commitment. It shows up three months into the mess, usually on a Wednesday, while you're doing something else entirely.
So here it is, plain:
This is what Life As I See It is. A space for writing from the middle of things. For perspective in motion. For the questions we're living, not the answers we're performing.
It's exactly where it needs to be.
And so are you, whether you've read every word since July or just landed here five minutes ago.
I'm building this slowly. On purpose.
Thanks for being here in the unfinished middle with me.
Welcome. Again.

So beautifully articulated, Alex. I love the way you’re stepping into this new vision. Your words help so many people take that moment to pause and question their assumptions, which is a wonderful - and necessary- gift. Kudos to you for reshaping the next leg of your journey. 💜
I wish I could, but at the moment it isn’t possible. When things change for me I will. I hope you grow very big. You deserve to be famous.
